Masquerader A Contender For The 2010 Caulfield Guineas

As the countdown begins to one of the Australian thoroughbred horse racing’s most elite event, all eyes turn to the capital of Victoria for the highly anticipated 2010 Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, and the events which fill it.

Masquerader, trained by David Payne is one colt who is being trained with the 2010 Caulfield Guineas in mind.

One of the more esteemed races will be the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) which will go ahead on the 9th of October, headlining the Caulfield Guineas Day.

Worth an impressive $1million, the 2010 Caulfield Guineas will no doubt draw in a bumper line up of three-year-olds to compete at set weights in what is always a thrilling battle on the track.

The juvenile is unbeaten this season, and has been rested for the Winter campaign in order to be fit for the Spring, and has undertaken training with the 2010 Caulfield Guineas in mind.

Other races to take place on the 9th of October will be the Group 1 Yalumba Stakes (2000m), the Group 1 Toorak Handicap (1600m), the Group 2 Presentation Stakes (2400m), the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes (1000m) and the Group 3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes (1200m) in what will be a fantastic day of racing.
