Saturday’s Sydney Spring Racing Carnival Preview

August 5th, 2010

The action of the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival will continue at the city’s Royal Randwick Racecourse this Saturday when it hosts the San Domenico Stakes Day.

The headlining event will of course be the $125,000 Group Three San Domenico Stakes (1000m), which is due to jump at 3.30pm with nine three-year-old starters.

Lining up as the horse to beat is Solar Charged at $2.40 with Ladbrokes.com.au, and the Charge Forward filly is coming off the back of a sublime barrier trial at Rosehill last month.

With Corey Brown in the saddle the three-year-old cleared a field of eight over the 900 metres and heads into the 2010 San Domenico Stakes as favourite despite drawing the wide alley nine.

Decision Time and Brightexpectations are at $4.20 and $4.40 respectively for the win with Ladbrokes.com.au.

Both are coming into Saturday’s race with strong form under their belt, but the More Than Ready colt Brightexpectations has the edge with two wins from two starts last month.

The other feature race of the day is lined up to be the $125,000 Group Three Missile Stakes (1200m), which is the jump before the San Domenico Stakes at 2.50pm.

Love Conquers All is conquering the odds from barrier two, and the last start winner of the June Stakes will double up with Jim Cassidy in the saddle once again.

Other notable starters in the 2010 Missile Stakes are Danleigh and Sniper’s Bullet which start from barriers three and eight respectively.

Remember there are another six races taking to the elite New South Wales track this weekend, so head to Ladbrokes.com.au to work out where to place your wager.
