This post will have the race results for the Caulfield Guineas Day 2010 races, and will be updated throughout the day as more results are finalised. Remember that you can bet on each upcoming race by joining and depositing at SportsBet, which only takes a few minutes.
Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria Handicap – 1200m
Race 1 had Sleepers ($11) win impressively, with Mac Chois ($3.50f) taking a hard earned second and That’s Not It ($8.50) finishing back in third. Sleepers lead from the beginning and kept leading, while Mac Chois was resigned to second place for the entire run.
Harrolds Fashion Plate – 1400m
Race 2 saw Berringama take an unlikely victory ($19). Amaethon ($9) ended the race in second place, while Tagus ($9) ran to the finish in third. Berringama stayed back until the very end, where a show of heart in the final straight gave the outsider a well-earned victory.
Herbert Power Stakes – 2400m
Race 3 went to Linton ($4.60) after a strong run home ahead of second place Cedarberg ($31) and third place Precedence ($2.60f). Unfortunately for many punters, Precedence wasted energy at the start, making way for Cedarberg to prove their staying power and Linton to bolt ahead at the end.
Schillaci Stakes – 1000m
Race 4 saw Black Caviar ($1.80f) preserve an unbeaten record, finishing in front of Winter King ($26) in second place and General Truce ($31) in third. Despite coming back from a long break and injury, Black Caviar had lost no speed and just barely missed out on the race record.
Yalumba Stakes – 2000m
Race 5 went much as expected with So You Think ($1.40f) taking the victory in style. Alcopop ($41) was a surprise in second, while Whobegotyou ($4) finished in third. So You Think sat behind Red Ruler at first, but once the final straight came up, jockey Steven Arnold took his champion runner ahead for a dominant 3.3 length victory.
Toorak Handicap – 1600m
Race 6 finished with no one in shock about the first place result as More Joyous ($2.30f) took the lead just in time. Coming in behind by only 0.4 of a length was We’re Gonna Rock ($12) in second, and Poor Judge ($51) took third in a photo finish with Luen Yat Forever just missing out.
FEATURE RACE – Caulfield Guineas – 1600m
Race 7 was the race days eponymous event, and it was a heart-pumping climax to the day as the final straight separated the champion stayers from the also-rans. Caulfield Guineas Prelude winner Anacheeva ($6) was the eventual victor after a desperate battle with second place finisher Run For Levi ($31), followed by a third place for Masquerader ($10). Toorak Toff and Ilovethiscity (both $5f) were the biggest disappointments, as Toorak Toff slacked off near the end just as he took the lead and Ilovethiscity had punters tasting bile with a tenth place finish.

Thoroughbred Club Stakes – 1200m
Race 8 saw Solar Charged ($7.50) run ahead of Jesse’s Girl ($5.50) as they made their way home, with Dance of the Ocean ($20) not quite catching up for a third place finish. Solar Charged impressed punters with a 4.3 length winning margin, which looked even more impressive with the photo finish for second and third.
Sportingbet Sprint Series Final – 1200m
Race 9 gave Avenue ($3.60) a convincing victory, followed by Red Flair ($14) coming in second and Dorf Command ($9.50) the third place finisher.
