Peter Snowden has announced that Sepoy looks better than ever ahead of his second-up run in the Group 2 Danehill Stakes at Flemington Racecourse this Saturday September 3, 2011.
The three-year-old colt performed brilliantly in his spring debut in the Listed Vain Stakes three weeks ago and his trainer believes his has improved even further from that run.
“He’s a bit better since his first-up run,” Snowden said.
“Fitness-wise he’s where we want him to be.”
“He gets better through his preparation.
“He didn’t have a gut-buster first-up and then had an easy week, but the last couple of weeks he’s got going.”
Sepoy’s main goal of the spring will be the $500,000 Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington on October 29, 2011.
“His preparation is being timed so he will peak for his ultimate goal, which is the Coolmore Stakes at Flemington on Derby Day,” Snowden said.
Sepoy won all three legs of the Blue Diamond earlier this year, as well as the $3.5 million Golden Slipper.
The three-year-old Elusive Quality colt has won six of his seven race starts and has accrued close to $3 million in prize money.
