The 2012 Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival is just around the corner, with nomination dates now realeased for all the major races.
Listed below are the key dates for nominations and acceptances for seven of the main spring races, which as always, promises to be a bumper carnival.
Heading the carnival is of course the Melbourne Cup which in 2012 looks set to again be dominated by international stayers.
The Cox Plate looks to be one of the most exciting races of the Spring Carnival, with unbeaten youngsters Atlantic Jewel and Pierro potential starters alongside glamour mare More Joyous.
In the sprint events, the racing public awaits to hear whether Black Caviar will race on and return to defend her title in the Patinack Farm Classic.
