Chase The Rainbow is due to run in the 2011 Stutt Stakes at Moonee Valley this Friday night September 30, 2011, after being scratched from the Caulfield Guineas Prelude at Caulfield last weekend due to the firm track.

Trainer Rick Hore-Lacy is hopeful Chase The Rainbow can produce a win ahead of the Caulfield Guineas on October 8, 2011.

“He’s a very promising horse. If you look at his run at Flemington he just motored past some good horses and there aren’t many who can run sectionals like that,” Hore-Lacy said.

“I scratched him last weekend because he’s won two races on the Geelong synthetic and I didn’t want to risk him on a Good (2) which was like concrete.

“The mile at Moonee Valley will suit him.”

Chase The Rainbow has won two of his four starts and has accrued more than $60,000 in prize money.

Trainer Peter Moody is still unsure whether or not to target the 2011 Caulfield Guineas with Moment Of Change, despite his uncontested win at Sandown Racecourse today.

Moment Of Change won the Hyland Racing Colours Handicap ahead of a handy field in what was just his second ever race start.

The Barely A Moment gelding won his debut start in country Victoria last month by an incredible ten lengths.

“He’s a good horse I don’t know how good,” Moody said following his latest win.

“The sky’s the limit but we’re not going to get ahead of ourselves.”

Moody said the Caulfield Guineas Prelude next weekend was “too soon” for Moment Of Change, who is having his first horse racing preparation.

“If I went a little bit in the deep end it would probably be the Stutt Stakes (September 30th),” he said.

“We’re not busting a gut to get him in the Caulfield Guineas.

“He’s got a lot of potential.”

“You just don’t know how far he’s going to get this prep.

“I think he’s in the top bracket but whether it’s this time round is questionable.”

Bloodstock manager and co-owner Rob Slade said he is willing to listen to Moody’s advice concerning the $1 million Caulfield Guineas.

“P.G. Moody has the trainer’s licence not me,” he said.

Jockey Linda Meech rode Moment Of Change to his latest victory as Luke Nolen is currently serving a suspension for careless riding aboard Kulgrinda in last weekend’s McEwan Stakes.

“He’s a lot better, today when I asked him to go he went,” Meech said.

“He was a little racehorse today.

“He was probably entitled to get tired after the whip.”

Meech believes we haven’t yet seen the best of Moment Of Change.

“He wasn’t at his top that’s for sure,” she said.
